It makes me uncomfortable. I don't exactly enforce this, It's just something I ask you to keep in mind. If it comes to my attention that someone in one of these groups follows me, I simply block them.

Miskinceptions
Didn't otherkin say they were all part of the LGBT community?
No, and anyone who did is a troll.
Don't plantkin get upset if people eat salad or mow grass?
No, those were trolls.
Isn't this some new tumblr thing?
No, otherkin seems to date back to the 90s. Additionally, it resembles beliefs found in a variety of cultures throughout history.
Aren't all otherkin kids?
No, for example I am 20. I personally have seen people as young as 13 and as old as 27 in the community, though the age range is probably wider in different parts of the community. Adults and younger members generally limit their interactions, though there are always the unfortunate exceptions in any community.
Do otherkin actually think they are their kintype?
This is highly personalized and complex. Many otherkin consider their kintypes to be past lives, more or less. Others use otherkin as a coping mechanism, which can be fine so long as it does not become maladaptive. Some mix the two. In general, no, probably not in the way that you're thinking.
